Hi, everyone

first I want to give the answer to some posted pictures.

DirkW : It's for me very hard : this pink-light & architecture in the middle of these nature pictures. I think you did it to get exactly this reaction... I changed once the order to see which effect this combintaiton makes on me... what do the others mean ?

I think that Willem's proposal fits completely... the green in the middle with the steps resolves all. The last combination is the best for me too. The tractor - the green with steps and the standing sheep.... (love this sheep image)

Gila, thanks for your input, interesting alternatives, eager to hear opinions!

About the sheep: IMHO I prefer the one laying under the trailer behind the wheel, just peering with one eye what's happening outside. I like the relaxed, calm mood of the situation. Also, here we have a much stronger relation, more a real conjunction between nature and technique, where the sheep uses the technique for shelter and protection, than on the picture where the sheep and the wheel/trailer are two elements next to each other, without this close internconnection.

my selection from your pictures. I combined two with similar color schemes and people walking to the right side on the outsides with one in the middle that has different colors, a different crop and the opposite main walking direction. Of course it could also be nice with three more different looking pictures. Just one possible suggestion.

Finished my summary and reflections concerning the remaining alcoves. I upload here a doc at the end of this writing giving an overview of the existent and planning ideas for the remaining alcoves.

Let me resume : we are now 15 participants. I did not hear anything from Barbara, I remember she was not so happy with her first result of the pictures. I suppose that she will not participate but I will send her a mail to get confirmation.

15 participants - 15 alcoves
I want to use one alcove left and one right to the entrance (TBD) for the presentation of the project and the presentation of the club, to place a table for the Golden Book ... (for Mr. Barroso!)

Makes 17 of 23 alcoves. For the remaining 6 I had this idea:

Common project : 1.Past Presence and Future... / architecture - nature... (the reflections in windows)
2. Red bridge under the Short Distance Point of View (proposal 2 alcoves) (2 x)
3. The two towers ...

I selected among the pictures presented on the forum... I did not pay attention which person contributed which picture... but I indicate it so we can balance this in this way if you want ...

I would like to create with the common-projects-pictures a kind of added-value and not making a simple patchwork because time is running out.

ad1. So as I like the picture of Jacques with the reflection of the bird and "grue" ... I tried to find others fitting and adding some ideas... In my opinion we could select 3 fitting together or selecting two and adding new ones.... the forum helps us to do so. This is the way i imagine now the final decisions for the remaining alcoves.

ad2. I created two red bridge series... it's to discuss
I would like to find a third abstract to both fitting to these of Dirk (I find the are really good) if we will decide such a series.

ad3. We have some interesting material of the 2 towers... one series could treat this theme

These proposals are thought to give a base of discussion, if you want to replace and play with the themes, to add other ideas ... we can do this via the forum for me.

The 2 available alcoves not yet filled ... check with me the remaining inputs on the forum (airport or ... ) I believe we find something good also for these.

How can we proceed:
As I think that not everybody has time to participate in the discussion (this was also like this for our "real meetings", I propose I do it with those who give an input - then I present the solution here on the forum ... to get the okay !

One more question before uploading the document : could s.o. deliver me the title : Luxembourg - The City of Short Distances in all EU languages?

I post the final proposals of Christelle (who finished with the support of Vincenzo). She found a solution to sharpen the "eye" and a solution to present the 4 pictures.For me a good solution!

here some information of Christelle what was done : (context is "transfrontaliers..."
Le fond est une partie des 2 1eres photos. On a ameliorÃ© la nettetÃ© de l'oeil et optÃ© finalement pour la photo oÃ¹ il y a juste les 2 soeurs. ca ferait donc 2 panneaux de 75 sur 50 cm avec 2 photos sur chaque.

A mon tour de vous proposer mes images, mÃªme si pour l'instant je trouve aboutie seulement seulement la premiÃ¨re.
La premiÃ¨re, donc, que j'appellerais "Marco Polo au Luxembourg", suggÃ¨re des pistes genre Chine ancienne, pasta, Chine moderne, nouilles/spaghetti et tutti quanti!

si tu n'es convaincu que de la premiÃ¨re photo, pourquoi ne pas faire 3 photos Ã thÃ¨mes.
Luxembourg: secteur financier, secteur vie culturelle, restos. CÃ reprÃ©sente bien le Lux. et en plus tu as dÃ©jÃ dans tes photos pas mal d'Ã©lÃ©ments dÃ©jÃ existants.
Une idÃ©e Ã essayer peut-Ãªtre ?

Good series, the neon light does stand out, so I think it deserves to be the last picture as attention automatically wanders there.

If you put the curved nature path second, we get a sort of transformation from straight-nature to curved-nature and curved-architecture. I think that works quite well.

Almyra, I love the middle one: good colours, reflections, and very concentrated. The "transparance" of the Tower building in the last picture is interesting, but unfortunately the light is not very flattering.

I present you an new last-minute-input. Andrea (newer member) and encouraged by JB sent me 4 pictures which fit into the context of Luxembourg _ The City Of Short Distances.

I present them here to get your opintion - we have always one alcove for a new candidate - so up to us to decide about the series...

JB - I have one question about the sharpness of the pictures in general and the second one in particular (larger than high) ... they seem to me unsharp but you saw them in the high resolution and me only web-optimized... can you or also Andrea check the originals. This would be the first point to check: the technical quality.

La deuxiÃ¨me et la quatriÃ¨me me semble interressante
pour la premiÃ¨re et la troisÃ¨me, elles me semblent floues et pas droites mais cela pourrait Ãªtre un effet volontaire ou un effet de ma vue...

La premiÃ¨re contraste bien avec celle de Myriam. et la quatriÃ¨me s'inscrit bien avec les chemins en courbe de Dirkw ...

I am not sure how long the discussion has come with regards to the joint alcoves. So, if it has been concluded then if nothing more we can enjoy these photos as memory of fine summer evenings :-).

Difficult to choose - I love the first one's colours, but when taking a stap back in the "thumbnails" view half of the picture is empty, so I wonder if it would make a good series.

I'm now wondering whether the 2nd, 3rd and 4th, or the 2nd, 3rd and 5th would be a good series.

What do the others think?

New member here.

I really like the windows/reflections series. I'm not sure if the fourth one belongs entirely, but the other three definitely form a beautiful series.

As for the red bridge: while Gila's picture is very interesting, I think a third picture by Almyra (posted next) would complement the other two more nicely. However, if we have a second set of red bridge photos, Gila's shouls by all means go there.

By the way, from DirkW's post #130, I much preferred the first and the last shots. It would be a grave mistake in my humble opinion not to present the first one...

As for the towers, I would choose the very middle one (by DirkW), and the bottom right by GÃ©rardB. The former has a really uncanny atmosphere with the fog covering everything but the top of the towers, and it's also very clean, with no unnecessary distractions. The latter is a great composition, also with a great atmosphere, also with the atmospheric theme (clouds here, not fog). Its symmetry and proportions are beautiful, the clouds and the trees forming an almost yin-yang-like structure. I'm not sure if a third picture is necessary, or even possible here...

My opinion anyway. Really looking forward to this exhibition!
