Sometimes a series, a theme, a project develops organically and with little forethought. A few individual images taken spontaneously, with no specific intention of them being part of something larger, start to coalesce into that something larger, regardless of your lack of intention. And then you start to look out for – and find – images to add to this little oddity of a project you’ve begun to see emerging. Missing Persons Reports turned into a rather whimsical project which plays with the idea of humanity’s presence as confirmed by its absence. Or, it’s nothing more than a bunch of images of empty chairs and benches collected over the past eight years or so. Either way, I like the results and will undoubtedly continue to add to this odd, personally amusing little project. This is a selection of photographs from my ongoing “missing persons reports”.
